How To Stop Drinking Alcohol Safely

Alcohol Detox Treatments

There are only three safe ways to stop drinking alcohol safely: Alcohol home detox, outpatient alcohol detox or residential alcohol detox. They are medical treatments, and the detox involves diazepam or Librium prescription medications to help mitigate alcohol withdrawals and provide as comfortable an experience as possible. We offer all three treatments. Call to start treatment today.

Alcohol Home Detox

A home alcohol detox involves a medical assessment and doctor consultation. Based on your diagnosis, the doctor will prescribe all the medications you need, including private Chlordiazepoxide (Librium) medication, vitamins, sleeping pills and anything else you need to safely and comfortably withdraw from alcohol.

This is all done online or on the phone. We then deliver your medication to you, or you can collect from a pharmacy. Clients start the private home Librium detox for alcohol as soon as they receive the medications and begin their journey to sobriety and recovery. We are here for support the whole time, and we will check in regularly to ensure everything is going well. You can call us anytime for support too. An alcohol home detox plan is a great option for those who can't travel to a clinic for alcohol treatment or live in remote areas in the UK.

Outpatient Detox

Outpatient alcohol detox is where you attend a clinic or medical practice during the day, but still stay at home overnight. Clients receive a similar level of medication as a home alcohol detox and medical attention as they would in a residential setting, albeit they take some medications home for evening dosage. It is sometimes called alcohol dayhab or outpatient rehab.

Depending on the clinic attended, people usually have around 7 days' medical treatment (the typical treatment time for alcohol detoxification) with attendance at the clinic for two, three or five days as agreed with us - some people prefer daily visits while others prefer to attend the first few days. Unlike a home detox programme, clients can receive pabrinex injections and drips, as well as other clinical therapies and treatments to help them detox comfortably.

Inpatient Detox

Inpatient or residential detox is where you stay in a clinic for the duration of your alcohol detox. This is usually either a specialist detox unit or undertaken in a rehab clinic facility. Most clinics have a 7-day or 10-day detox (which can be extended), whilst other clinics are 14 days minimum stay.

You receive all of your medical treatment in the clinic, as well as your meals and sleep there. For obvious reasons, this is the highest level of alcohol detox care people can receive due to the round-the-clock care. For those who can't attend outpatient or where home detox is unsuitable, perhaps due to health issues or chronically high levels of drinking, residential treatment is always the best option. Most residential detox facilities also offer psychological therapies and other treatments to help with withdrawals and recovery.

We Are A Leading UK Provider Of Alcohol Home Detox & In-Person Addiction Treatment

About Detox Today

We take care of the whole process. From speaking to the individual or their representative, right through to treatment and one-to-one aftercare and sober coaching.

Our services are efficient, worry-free and life-saving. We are independent, and we are highly experienced, so we help you choose the right treatment path – whatever and wherever that is – that’s best for you. Whether it’s an alcohol home detox provider, private clinics, detox units and rehab centres, they will say they’re the best option for you, and they have the best treatment – but we know otherwise. As independent treatment providers, we use only the best UK addiction specialists, clinics and methods of recovery with the best chance of success, tailored to the person. We know how to get people well, and it is not one-size-fits all or any particular clinic. We work with all providers in the UK and know the nuances between treatments. And we know cost is important too. We find excellent value treatment all over the UK. Not all alcohol home detoxes and rehabs are the same, and many charge premium costs but deliver substandard service. We know, we’ve all worked in the industry for decades.

At Detox Today, our job is to help people overcome addiction, save lives and stop unwanted pain for the individual, their loved ones, colleagues and wider circle. Contact us today to find out how we can help.

We have helped hundreds of people get sober and stay sober over the years. Anyone can sober up and live a happy and content life, free from alcohol – no matter how unwell they may be. We have helped and seen many people come back from very dark and very unwell places. It’s why we do this. We know recovery can work for everyone.

A home alcohol detox is an excellent option, especially for people who can’t or won’t attend either outpatient or inpatient detox, or those who don’t have extremely chronic alcoholism. With home detox, it is what it sounds like, you undertake a medical detox at home. The client speaks to one of our doctors on the telephone or on a video call and the doctor diagnoses the situation, then prescribes detox medications. These are sent to you by overnight guaranteed post or collected from a pharmacy local to you. You can start the detox with remote support from our doctors, addiction support staff and counsellors.

No. But we do pills for alcohol abstinence, including Disulfiram (Antabuse), Acamprosate (Campral) and Naltrexone. Contact us to find out availability and to book a consultation.

Our telephone helpline, all of our telephone advice, any recovery guides or PDFs, helpful articles, email advice or plans of recovery we provide are free. Our GP services do have a fee as it is a private service. Referrals to other treatment providers can cost money, unless, of course, that service is free such as your own GP, community NHS addiction teams or charity services. Often, we can negotiate a cheaper price with treatment providers than if you went direct to them without our service. Sometimes, the treatment provider pays us a fee, however, the price our clients pay is never more expensive because of our fee.
